THE WESSEX SUPREME -- MEAT BIRD

Leg problems and  heart attacks are almost unheard of and mortality is very low in these birds . They are much more  suited to free ranging and have been chosen for ease of management as they are inclined to develop their frame and then add the meat unlike some of the broiler types. One of the most important things to remember when rearing any chicken is to keep the bedding dry at all times. Wet bedding causes respiratory problems and as meat birds don't roost it  leads to "blistered breasts" and general lack of thrift.Another very important  thing to remember is that you cannot fatten chickens  with layers pelllets. They need a higher protien ration if they are to reach their full potential. The fact that these chickens are good outside foragers leaves a great taste off the meat .Order your day olds today  and grow your own tender free range chicken.Once you taste the difference there's no going back .

The wessex are easily reared and  capable of reaching weights in excess of 7 1/2  pounds at 12/13 weeks

WE ALSO SUPPLY TABLE DUCKS. THEY ARE PEKING X AND REACH WEIGHTS OF UP TP 8LBS @ 9/10 WEEKS OLD
WE HAVE VERY GOOD FEEDBACK FROM CUSTOMERS ABOUT THEM BEING EASILY PLUCKED AND HIGH LIVABILITY AS WELL AS BEING EXCELLENT THRIVING BIRDS
