POULTRY CARE SHOP

THIS PAGE IS FOR BASIC RELEVANT INFORMATION.MOST OF THE PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM ANY GOOD POULTRY SUPPLY STORE OR FROM YOUR VET.IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE GETTING ANY OF THEM BY ALL MEANS CONTACT US.

keep your poultry/coops etc a safe place for you and your chickens.Relatively  inexpensive ,no gimmicks ,just necessary items for vermin/parasite control of your flock. No matter where you decide to purchase them , we recommend that you use some form of pest control as meal attracts vermin, and animals are suseptible to parasites such as lice/red mite and worms. Poultry will lay and last a lot longer if they recieve a little bit of attention other than just picking them up and stroking them.

RACO FORCE PASTE comes in a 1kg bucket which contains approximately 100 sachets and costs £14.95 + p+p.The sachets are designed to slide onto the metal rod inside the bait box so the rodents can't carry them to the outside in reach of the chickens, wild birds and children etc.It is highly effective and widely used by commercial poultry farms.

This box makes using the above product  both simple and safe . It has a locking lid and the bait can only be accessed by the rodents.Bait stations are the only safe way to administer any product to ensure that only the rodents get it  They cost £6.50 each . One station is sufficient in most situations unless there are numerous buildings in which you wish to put one.

WORMS.- Hens/Ducks  should be wormed about three times/year. A handy way of remembering is to carry out this routine procedure around the --17th of March,  12th of July and New year. When you do it is not important so long as you remember .Worms in hens ,especially "gape worm" is fatal and must be  prevented. We recommend a product called "FLUBENVET". This is available from ourselves and can be supplied in small quantities to treat small numbers with full instructions etc. There is no egg withdrawl period when using flubenvet .

Any condition  with which the birds  appear to have a cough/sneeze should be treated with antibiotic powder in the drinking water and is available only from your local vet who will also be able to give advice on the proper treatment.
